317L Stainless Steel Blind Flanges Manufacturer

317L Stainless Steel Blind Flanges are designed without a bore and are used to close the ends of pipes, valves and pumps. These SS 317L Blind Flanges can be manufactured with or without a nub (neck). BLRF or Blank Flanges are ideal for high pressure applications, as this type of flange without a bore and generally in larger sizes can withstand more stress and pressure that other types of flanges.

A Stainless Steel 317L Blind Flanges is a method of connecting pipes, valves, pumps and other equipment to form a piping system in Petro and chemical industry. 317L Stainless Steel Blind Flanges also provides easy access for cleaning, inspection or modification. SS 317L Blind Flanges are usually welded or screwed. Flanged joints are made by bolting together two flanges with a gasket between them to provide a seal. All types except the A182 Stainless Steel 317L Blind Flanges are provided with a raised flange face. Each ASME SA182 F317L Blind Flanges according to ASME B16.5 has a number of standard dimensions.

Steber Steel is manufacturer of ASTM A182 Stainless Steel 317L Blind Flanges in India. We are ISO 9001 & 14000 certified exporter of all SS 317L Blind Flanges are manufactured in India, with raw materials coming from reputed Mills in India and overseas. We are stockholder and supplier of 317L Stainless Steel Blind Flanges in a wide range sizes, surface treatment, and ASTM standards. UNS S31703 | WNR 1.4438 | Alloy 317L. BS 4504 317L Blind Flanges DN50 PN10 are typically provided with a raised face, flat face, or RTJ facing. When a raised face is necessary for 150# Stainless Steel 317L Blind Flanges, the standard height is 1/16″ for ANSI B16.9 Blind Flanges under 400#. For SAE 317L Blind Flanges of 400# and up, the standard AISI 317L Blind Flanges raised face height is 1/4″. SUS 317L Blind Flanges in our stock include ANSI B16.5 SS 317L Blind Flanges, ASME B16.47 Series “A” ASTM A182 UNS S31703 Blind Flanges, ASME B16.47 Series “B” ASME SA182 UNS S31703 Blind Flanges and Pressure Vessel 317L Blind Flanges. We offer you DIN spec certified Flanges from rough B16.5 forgings, at a competitive cost.

We also carry a line of SS flanges and gaskets kits in a variety of materials including rubber, non-asbestos and Teflon.

PRESSURE CLASS PN 6 TO PN 100

What are PN10, PN16 and PN25 Standards Blind Flanges

PN10, PN16, PN25 and PN40 specify both pressure class in bars of pressure, and metric Blind Flanges dimensions (such as bolt circle diameter, hole size, bolt size etc) according to international flange standards such as ISO 7005-1 or DIN 2501 that use the metric system of measurements. Blind Flanges produced to ANSI, AWWA, ASA, or old British standards that are dimensioned in inches will not mate up with metric flanges in general. It is good practice when specifying a PN flange standard to indicate the actual working pressure since it is a common occurrence that a specific PN, say PN16, flange drilling is required on a fitting or valve to match adjacent flanges, but the pressure requirement is less than PN16.

Significantly better corrosion resistance that T-316 in the same environments. Good oxidation resistance in continuous service to 925°C and in intermittent service to 879°C.

AISI 317L Blind Flanges Heat Treatment

AISI 317L stainless steel Blind Flanges is non-magnetic in the annealed condition and is non-hardenable by heat treatment. Machinability is 39% – 65 surface feet per minute.

SS 317L Blind Flanges Fabrication

Alloy 317L stainless steel Blind Flanges can be easily welded and processed by standard shop fabrication practices.

317L Stainless Steel Blind Flanges producing through Cold forming

Shearing, stamping, heading and drawing can be successfully performed . To remove internal stresses, a post-work annealing is recommended.

Stainless Steel 317L Blind Flanges Machining

Low speeds and constant feeds will minimize this alloy’s tendency to work harden. Tougher than 304 stainless steel Blind Flanges with a long stringy chip, the use of chip breakers is recommended.

317L Blind Flanges Welding

317L stainless steel Blind Flanges can be readily welded by most standard processes. A post weld heat treatment is not necessary. 317L is readily welded by a full range of conventional welding procedures (except oxyacetylene). AWS E317L/ER317L filler metal or austenitic, low carbon filler metals with molybdenum content higher than that of 317L, or a nickel-base filler metal with sufficient chromium and molybdenum content to exceed the corrosion resistance of 317L should be used to weld 317L steel.

Alloy 317L Blind Flanges Hot Forming

317L stainless steel Blind Flanges are non-magnetic in the annealed condition and is non-hardenable by heat treatment. Machinability is 39% – 65 surface feet per minute.

MSS, API, AWWA, ANSI AND CSA STANDARDS

ANSI, MSS and API standards govern flange dimensions and tolerances. ASME/ANSI B16.5, titled “ Steel Pipe Flanges and Flanged Fittings”, is the basic standard. It covers forged steel flanges, sizes NPS 1/2 (DN 15) through NPS 24 (DN 600). CSA standard CAN3-Z245 12-M96 covers the manufacture, dimensions, tolerances and material requirements for pipe line flanges. ASME/ANSI B16.36 covers Orifice flanges. The following MSS, API and AWWA standards are written to supplement B16.5:

  • MSS SP-6: Flange facings
  • MSS SP-9: Spot facing for bronze, iron and steel flanges
  • MSS SP-25: Marking of flanges
  • MSS SP-39: Bolts and nuts for flanges
  • API6A: Wellhead equipment
  • AWWA C207: Hub flanges

The following codes are not flange specifications, but they influences the manufacture of forged steel flanges:

  • ASME: Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code
  • ASME/ANSI B31.1: Power Piping
  • ASME/ANSI B31.3: Petroleum and refinery piping
  • ASME/ANSI B31.4: Liquid petroleum transportation piping systems
  • ASME/ANSI B31.5: Refrigeration piping
  • ASME/ANSI B31.8: Gas transmission and distribution piping systems
  • ANSI/ASME B36.10M: Standard for wrought steel pipe
  • ANSI/ASME B36.19M: Standard for stainless steel pipe
  • ANSI/ASME B16.47: Large diameter pipe line flanges NPS 22 (DN 550) and NPS 26 (DN 650) through NPS 36 (DN900)
